The incredible bug striper bite continued on Sunday as Capt Andy took out Chris Defeo, his brother, and their three boys. It was the first time for the boys to battle the big Western Sound Striped Bass and they had their hands full! On the very first drift they caught a 35lb+ striper and two more in the slot. An hour later, they got into a sustained shallow water bite and caught another dozen stripers that were all in or over the slot. There were no shorts and only a couple of bluefish bites.
The full moon certainly brings in waves of fish, but the half moon often makes for easiest fishing. This is still the very best bite in over 30 years.
