23 Jun Wind Has Dropped and Bite Remains Hot!
After the past few days of relentless Northeast wind, it felt great to get off of the dock again. Although there was still a residual groundswell in the Sound, conditions were perfect for Tom, Joe, Peter, Matty and James to join Capt Joby for an evening striper trip. And the fish certainly did not disappoint! The group managed to land over a dozen stripers, all fish above the slot and the biggest coming in at just shy of 25 pounds. Of course, there were plenty of monster bluefish mixed in, averaging between 12 and 14 pounds! While we definitely see the fish moving from spot to spot locally, it appears that this excellent bite is going to last for a good while longer.
