30 Jun Striped Bass and Fluke

While the back bays are still loaded with peanuts and mid-sized bunker, it seems that the adults have moved to deeper waters and remain elusive. Despite this, the LIFC team has been able to stay on a steady bass bite, using whatever tactics necessary to keep the customer reels screaming! Hopefully in the coming weeks we will see more bluefish making their way down the Sound, the added competition will be sure to keep the bass bite going well into the summer. The fluke numbers continue to improve and now we are seeing seeing many more keepers mixed in. We expect the fluke bite to keep getting better in the weeks ahead.
