When the bite is this good, and someone asks you to do a last minute trip there's only one thing to say: LET'S GO! Pat and Al joined Capt Joby for a quick trip on Sunday and absolutely crushed the bass and bluefish. Again, live lining bunker was the ticket to non-stop action, many of the fish blasting the baits at boat-side. In three hours the duo landed 12 bass to 23 pounds and 9 bluefish from 10 to 14 pounds....

The body of fish that we now have in the Western Sound is undoubtably one of the most spectacular we have seen in a very long time. The bass are consistantly in or above the slot, we have not measured a short fish in over 2 weeks. Right now is the perfect time for anglers of any skill level to come out and hone their skills. Saturday's trip with Capt Joby was no exception! Angelo B and his crew were amazed at the non-stop action that was only a 4 minute...

As predicted, this incredible June striper bite continues! Tony, Wally, Jim and Charlie joined Capt Joby for an early morning live-lining excursion, and after a few tackle adjustments they were rewarded with a spectacular 2-hour flurry of action with fish up to 25 pounds (and no shorts!). It seems that the wave of fish that came in on the last moon are nothing but solid, slot fish and above. By the time the tide bottomed out, the team had battled 15 to 20 quality stripers. Switching things up for a little...

Though it may have not been the best tide, Capt Joby's multi-spot plan to target trophy stripers worked to perfection!  Stan Ramsey (dad), Charlie and Henry (sons) had over 15 keeper striped bass with no shorts.  Many of the fish were well outside of the 35inch slot.  The largest was around 35lbs.  They also had a bunch of huge bluefish.  The bite was so good, they had to resupply on bunker during the trip (and those also ran out).  They finished the trip with a 20lb striper and 14lb bluefish...

The weekend started with way too many giant bluefish as they invaded the entire western Long Island Sound. They were hitting everything including trolled lures, chunks, and live bunker.  The big stripers did not make a decent showing until Sunday morning. Even with that, the bluefish were absolutely ravenous and they got even bigger! On Monday we moved to a new area and found plenty of slot-sized stripers and a few monsters well outside the slot.  The bluefish made sure there was plenty of action, but their numbers were certainly less....

Christie Jenkins and her group got into a red-hot bite and had 14 striped bass with 3 in the slot (one of those pictured here) and another 4 over the slot. The birds gave away a huge pile of bass on one of the many high pieces. All of the action was on light spinning tackle. The best bite continues to be no more than 15 minutes from the dock. This by far the best start to the striper season in the last years!  The fish have been everywhere....

Covid is a distant (but somewhat lingering) memory and it is time again to go fishing! We want to welcome back Captain Joby Vinarski who will be working full time and managing the rest of our team. We have a lot to share for 2023. We added a triple engine Regulator 34 in 2022 and it is now available for charters (fishing and otherwise). Our 28 Triton is ready to roll (as usual) and we have two of the very best fishing charter boats on Long Island. It is only April, but...
